Amina works with local refugee farmers in the Salt Lake Valley, particularly on the West Side, helping support community-led agriculture and access to fresh, locally grown food. Through this work, she has developed a deep appreciation for environmentally conscious farming practices and the role sustainable agriculture plays in protecting the environment while creating economic opportunities for underserved communities.
Inspired by the farmers she works with, Amina has expanded her commitment to sustainability beyond agriculture. She is actively learning ways to live more sustainably at home and participates in West Side initiatives that promote community gardens, composting, waste reduction, and neighborhood cleanups. Amina hopes to continue supporting green efforts that strengthen local food systems, empower refugee and immigrant communities, and make the West Side a healthier, more sustainable place for everyone.
